North Butterworth Container Terminal
Malaysia (1992 - 1994)
Among the many civil projects pioneered by Gamuda in the early 1990s was the North Butterworth Container Terminal, which we built in separate packages involving the construction of the container wharf and approach bridge (Package 2), container years, buildings and utilities (Package 3).
The project, completed in 1994, effectively raised the productivity and robustness of the Penang Port, as a prime outlet for cargo distribution, trading, consolidation, storage and transhipment in the northern Peninsula.
