Construction Training Centre (CTC)
Complementing graduates produced from the Gamuda Plant Operator School (GPOS) and the Tunnelling Training Academy (TTA), the Construction Training Centre (CTC) provides basic construction wet trade works including formwork, concreting and bar-bending for school leavers who wish to join the dynamic and challenging construction industry.
Working in tandem with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Institut-Institut Latihan Kemahiran, CTC serves as a valuable training ground for young Malaysians who would like to gain exposure in internationally benchmarked construction practices and detailed know-how assimilated from developed nations such as Australia, Europe and Singapore.
The first batch of graduates celebrated their graduation ceremony in July 2011 and the next stage of CTC’s expansion will be to extend its current courses to include bricklaying, plastering and tiling, all of which are crucial skills required in the quality completion of all Gamuda projects.
Due to the innovative nature of the large infrastructure projects and the state-of-the-art technologies employed by Gamuda, having our own training center enables us to prepare our staff, subcontractors and other interested industry players, with the technical proficiency necessary to undertake their work efficiently and safely.
Altogether, the umbrella of TTA, CTC and GPOS have a combined training capacity of up to 4,000 trainees annually catering for a range of skills from basic construction to specialised tunnelling operations, representing one of the most comprehensive construction training facilities of its kind in Malaysia and the South-East Asian region.
