The project involves the construction
of 43km of new highway from the town
of Shahaniya to the existing Zekreet
interchange near the Dukhan industrial
area, for a four-lane dual carriageway
with grade-separated interchanges
to replace the existing two-lane single
carriageway.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
This 42km Dukhan Highway starts approximately
one kilometre to the east of the town of Shahaniya
and continues to the existing Zirkreet interchange
near to the Dukhan industrial area. It includes
the construction of a four-lane dual carriageway
with grade-separated interchanges to replace
the existing two-lane single carriageway and
at grade junctions.
The works comprise the construction of road
works, bridge works and ancillary works. These
include the following:
- Approximately 42km of four-lane dual carriageway
with shoulders
- Five grade separated junctions and associated
structures
- Seven camel underpasses
- Pavements
- Works in relation to the following existing
and future utility services:
- Electricity
- Water
- Telephone
- Foul sewers
- Qatar Petroleum
- Qatar Emiri Signal Corp.
