Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), Malaysia

Feature highlights:
  • The Sunway Toll Plaza was built on a 40m deep ex-mining pond. The embankment was constructed with engineered fill materials compacted in layers after careful dewatering of the pond was carried out to ensure long term integrity of the highway.
  • LDP’s Cable Stayed Bridge, a cable stayed bridge built on land, is a third-level overpass spanning 600m over the Federal Highway interchange.

The Damansara-Puchong Highway is Klang Valley’s (a major business, commercial and residential hub in Malaysia’s capital state of Selangor) strategic intra-urban route linking major economic districts to the Middle Ring Road leading to Kuala Lumpur city.

The 40km, 3-lane dual-purpose carriageway comprise 14 interchanges and was designed to increased capacity and offering an alternative route into Kuala Lumpur city.

The highway has set a benchmark for good design and strategically meeting demands of growing developments along its alignment and bringing in returns for the concession operator.

1.7 million vehicles ply the highway daily with 15 busiest toll plazas handling 800,000 tollable vehicles per day.
