New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Qatar

Gamuda, in a joint venture with Sinohydro Corporation and WCT Engineering Berhad, has been awarded a US$490 million contract on 18 July 2005 to design and build airfield facilities, road tunnel and detention ponds for the New Doha International Airport (NDIA).

The contract covers design detailing, procurement, construction, start-up and commissioning of airfield facilities, including two runways of 4.84km and 4.25km respectively, three full-length parallel taxiways, all airfield lighting and electrical substation equipment, a 1km dual 3 lanes tunnel providing access to the airfield area and a detention ponds system to manage airfield drainage.
