Ir. K W Chan is a professionally registered
civil engineer with 27 years of experience.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering (Honours) degree from the University
of London King’s College, United Kingdom.
He has had extensive experience in managing
the complete implementation and construction
of urban and interurban highways and water supply
schemes in Malaysia, the UK and India. He is
also in charge of tendering of projects and
ensuring the overall management and planning
of projects.
At present, Ir K W Chan is Senior General Manager
(Project Management Division), Gamuda Berhad.
He is also the Joint Managing Director for Gamuda
Engineering Sdn Bhd. He is mainly responsible
for the development of turnkey/BOT projects
such as the Dukhan Highway in Qatar (US$206
million), the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Mass Rapid
Transit System – Orange Line Package CO4
in Taiwan (US$210 million), the Panagarh-Palsit
Highway and Durgapur Expressway in India (US$200
million) and the Damansara-Puchong Highway (US$460
million) and the Western KL Traffic Dispersal
Scheme in Malaysia (US$200 million). He was
also overseeing the construction of the Sungai
Selangor Water Supply Scheme (US$550 million)
consisting of a dam, two water treatment plants
and a road. He was also responsible for the
preliminary construction planning of the mega
Electrified Double Track Railway Project in
Malaysia (US$3.8 billion).
He is also the Regional Director for the Group’s
projects in India.
