The Shah Alam Expressway is a major inter-urban transportation artery connecting Kuala Lumpur city to major residential and industrial districts such as Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam and Port Klang, Malaysia’s principal port.
The 34.5km six-lane highway was a major catalyst, spurring economic growth with developments along its alignment on which is located some private residential developments and industrial estates.
The SAE, opened in mid-1998, served as the gateway into the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex, the venue of the Commonwealth Games 1998.
