| In Qatar, Gamuda has completed the construction for the Dukhan Highway linking the town of Shahaniya to the existing Zekreet interchange near Dukhan industrial area. Built as part of Qatar’s modernization of the state’s entire road network, the approximately 43km four-lane dual carriageway with grade-separated interchanges replaces the existing two-lane single carriageway. Among the major civil engineering works completed for the highway include underpasses and bridges as well as ancillary works with six major interchanges, service roads and beautification works.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
This 42km Dukhan Highway starts approximately
one kilometre to the east of the town of Shahaniya
and continues to the existing Zirkreet interchange
near to the Dukhan industrial area. It includes
the construction of a four-lane dual carriageway
with grade-separated interchanges to replace
the existing two-lane single carriageway and
at grade junctions.
The works comprise the construction of road
works, bridge works and ancillary works. These
include the following:
- Approximately 42km of four-lane dual carriageway
with shoulders
- Five grade separated junctions and associated
structures
- Seven camel underpasses
- Pavements
- Works in relation to the following existing
and future utility services:
- Electricity
- Water
- Telephone
- Foul sewers
- Qatar Petroleum
- Qatar Emiri Signal Corp.
