Scholarship Awards and Education Sponsorships from the Group
Gamuda Public Scholarships
The Group believes strongly that education is the foundation to one’s personal development and growth. As such it has, over the years, consistently helped to provide for higher education opportunities through its annual presentations of GAMUDA Scholarship Awards, LITRAK Scholarship Awards and SPLASH Scholarship Awards.
The other components in our education programme include our Gamuda Staff and Employee’s Children Scholarships and Staff Apprenticeship Programmes. In 2004, the Group expanded its education programme through the GAMUDA Excellence Awards to reach out to more outstanding individuals. These are cash awards presented to Civil Engineering undergraduates in local public universities, who are outstanding with high academic achievement and possess strong leadership qualities.
In a drive to attract young graduates to join the construction and engineering industry, the group conducts road shows and recruitment exercises at public universities. The road show resulted in the employment of fifteen graduates in these universities.
